Together is the third episode of the Italian Amazon Prime Video series Citadel: Diana. The episode was released on October 10, 2024.
Synopsis[]
Ettore sends Edo and Diana to Sicily on a sensitive mission that threatens their alliance. However, under the Mediterranean sun, the two discover they are connected by much more than their objectives. Eight years earlier, Diana infiltrates Manticore and carries out her first mission.
Plot Summary[]
In a flashback to eight years earlier, Diana is held at gunpoint by Matteo, who reveals that her parents were killed by the secret service. Matteo proposes that they work together to dismantle the corrupt system, and he wants Diana to become one of their top agents.
During her training, Diana is impressed by the advanced facility and discovers that the Zani family is planning to undermine the entire system. She passes this information to her handler, Gabriele. Diana does training missions with other agents, including Luca.
In the present, Diana cares for her sister Sara, putting her to bed while making sure her team removes any traces of a break-in at their flat. Meanwhile, Edo is called to a meeting with Ettore, who informs him that his discussions with Cecile have been successful. Ettore is considering aligning with Manticore France to find both halves of the weapon. However, Edo sees an opportunity to escalate the conflict into an all-out war between the agencies, though he is still bound by his father’s more cautious approach.
Ettore assigns Edo to track down Weber, who is hiding in the Trapani region. To reach Weber, they need to deal with the Tringali family, who are rivals. Edo plans to use another rival gang, the Magnanos, to locate Weber. He enlists Diana for the mission, though their goals differ—Diana wants to capture Weber alive, while Edo plans to kill him.
Edo and Diana travel to Sicily and meet Enzo, the leader of the Magnano clan. Edo cleverly extracts data from Enzo’s phone, gaining the necessary information without raising suspicion. They track Weber to an abandoned warehouse, but he escapes using a zipline. Diana pursues him through a maze and ultimately catches him, killing him in a fight.
After confirming Weber’s identity by scanning his face, Diana informs Edo. Since they didn’t recover the weapon, they switch to Plan B: faking footage of Weber attempting to assassinate Edo at a hotel. Diana even fires a shot to make the staged scene appear authentic. At the hotel, Edo works on the manipulated footage. Ettore, upon seeing it, believes the Magnanos may have betrayed Weber’s location.
Diana prepares to leave, but Edo suggests they spend the evening in Sicily and have dinner together. Flashbacks show Diana becoming increasingly disillusioned with Manticore, especially after a failed training exercise and a bombing at Piazza Duomo. She wants to leave, but Gabriele convinces her to stay, reminding her that she’s their key to infiltrating and dismantling the system.
During dinner, Edo opens up to Diana, admitting that he has felt isolated within Manticore and that she is the first person with whom he has been able to be himself. Their moment is interrupted when Diana experiences another dizzy spell and hurries back to her hotel room.
Later, Diana visits a doctor, who suggests that her dizzy spells might be triggered not only by stress but also by romantic feelings. While Diana processes this information, Ettore summons Edo for a meeting. He admits that he doesn’t trust Diana and reveals that Cecile has rejoined their side. He also knows the footage of Weber was faked. Ettore stuns Edo by revealing that he already possesses the German half of the weapon and was aware of Edo’s plan to betray him.
Diana is suddenly kidnapped by the Zani family while walking down the street.
