Synopsis[]
Nadia, Mason and Carter are forced to work together to escape from Manticore and protect the X Case, but suspicion of one of our heroes reaches a boiling point, leading to an explosive reckoning.
Plot Summary[]
In Morocco, Carter tells Mason they can’t trust Nadia.
In a flashback to nine years ago in Athens, Nadia pours drinks while Mason looks at a small ring box. She asks him about any updates regarding the Oz key. Nadia suggests resurrecting Celeste now that Davik has seemingly vanished, but Mason dismisses the idea.
They discuss their mission in Greece, which requires them to pose as a married couple to apprehend a yakuza boss. Mason presents Nadia with an engagement ring. Nadia initially assumes it is from Bernard for the mission, but she quickly realizes it’s from Mason. He asks her to marry him.
In present, Bernard convinces Anders to help him escape so they can find Brielle. Anders cuts Bernard's restraints to let him go, however before they can get away Anders gets shot by Dahlia who calls him a “dipsh*t”. Bernard confronts Dahlia, telling her that Thomas would be disappointed by her current path. Dahlia justifies her actions as a means of preventing innocent people from experiencing loss. She admits she can’t take all the credit- that one of Citadel’s own approached her in the first place.
In a flashback to nine years prior, Nadia receives a secure message revealing the truth about Celeste getting backstopped. She finds Bernard and asks him whether Mason was aware of the situation. Bernard nods.
Nadia confronts Mason, testing his knowledge of Bernard’s involvement with Celeste. Although Mason denies any knowledge, Nadia reveals her awareness of the truth. Mason claims his actions were motivated by the desire to protect Nadia because he knows she took the Oz Key. Nadia confesses that she took and destroyed the key, believing that no one should possess such power.
Nadia begs Mason to call Bernard to give Celeste her memories back. Frustration builds as Nadia finds out that Mason erased Celeste's memories from the system. They have a heated argument about Nadia's commitment to their relationship. Nadia ultimately admits that she is capable of love, but not for Mason. She puts down the engagement ring and leaves.
Nadia later contacts someone, informing them of the recent events. She meets Rahi Gambhir, who hands her airplane tickets to Valencia. He advises caution as she distances herself from Citadel and asks what she’ll do about Mason. She tells him he can never find out-no matter what. Nadia assures him that her actions remain undetected.
In the present, Carter reveals his knowledge of Nadia's encounter with terrorist Rahi Gambhir shortly before Citadel's downfall.
Dahlia threatens Bernard's family, coercing him to disclose the password for the Citadel nukes. Despite obtaining the password, she orders her associates to “clean up in Wyoming” and execute Bernard's family. She explains it’s just an eye for an eye.
In Wyoming, Joe detects an impending threat, prompting the Abby, Hendrix, Joe, and Valeria to immediately evacuate. Dahlia receives a call from Davik, updating her on the situation involving Nadia and Mason. She instructs him to locate and capture Mason, while also mentioning his need to travel to Valencia due to intercepted communication between Nadia and Rahi Gambhir the day before. Dahlia tells Davik that Anders was killed and that Bernard shot him. Davik is furious. In Morocco, Nadia, Carter, and Mason argue in the car about loyalty. Nadia tells Mason he might have forgotten about Celeste but she hasn’t. Carter tells them that Nadia planned the attack against Citadel and that she was working for Manticore.
Pressured by Carter and Mason, Nadia admits that she had a child. She says she was never an insurgent. Nadia contacted Rahi before to tell him about her pregnancy. She told him she doesn’t trust Mason. In Valencia, Nadia gave birth to a daughter. Rahi sat by her side while she gave birth. In present, Nadia tells them she hasn’t seen her daughter since she was 6 months old- eight years ago. Mason asks if she is his daughter and Nadia says yes. Mason asks if he knew and Nadia tells him he didn’t deserve to know.
In Washington D.C., Dahlia meets with a woman named Cristoph, who commends her on her accomplishments. Dahlia speaks with someone on the phone, divulging the necessity of Mason's fingerprint to activate the nukes, despite possessing the codes.
Nadia reveals to the others that Rahi Gambhir is, in fact, her father. In a flashback, Grace summons Nadia for a mission in Italy. Nadia decides to meet Mason and disclose the truth, leaving behind a small golden bracelet for her daughter, Asha.
In present, Nadia, Mason, and Carter, are surrounded by a convoy of cars. A man approaches Mason, providing him with an earpiece and relaying a request to speak with him. It is Dahlia, who has a proposition for him. She tells him she wants him to help her retrieve something in exchange for their daughter, whom she kidnapped. The man holds up the golden bracelet Nadia had given their daughter to prove that they did in fact capture her.
