Synopsis[]
Diana is captured and struggles desperately to survive while Ettore has to make a hard decision in order to restore Manticore Italy's power, as memories resurface of the day when his relationship with Edo was shattered forever.
Plot Summary[]
Ettore reveals that the mission in Sicily was a trap to test Edo's loyalty and see how close he was to Diana. Choosing Diana for the mission wasn’t part of the plan—Edo made that decision himself. Ettore had already extracted everything from Weber, including the weapon, by threatening his family. Edo, however, counters by revealing that the French half of the weapon doesn’t work, exposing the double-cross he and Diana uncovered regarding the French.
Ettore disowns Edo, kicking him out of Manticore. Furious, Edo learns from Julia that she knew all along that Sicily was a setup. Edo defends Diana, expressing his respect for her position and his feelings for her.
Meanwhile, Diana is imprisoned and being questioned by Manticore. Edo breaks into her cell and warns her that Ettore knows everything, and they need to escape. Diana tells him that the prisoner in the next cell is a Citadel agent—the one responsible for killing Edo’s brother. This drives Edo to confront Matteo and Ettore, accusing them of violating protocols by torturing prisoners.
In a flashback, Cecile and Edo's connection is explained. Their families had grand plans for them to take over the Manticore legacy together, but Cecile, overwhelmed by her mother's illness and the weight of their responsibilities, ends their relationship even though she was in love.
Edo’s disdain for Manticore grows when he learns that the bombing at Piazza Duomo was orchestrated as a diversion, allowing Manticore to take out Citadel and trigger a war.
Diana, seeking a way out of this situation, negotiates her fate. She requests to be transferred to Manticore France, knowing she’s likely to be executed no matter what. However, she sees this as an opportunity—she proposes using her transfer to infiltrate France’s headquarters and steal the real half of the weapon.
Ettore, now intent on igniting conflict, speaks to Wolfgang and manipulates him by suggesting that Cecile is using him for her own gain. After this, Ettore brings Edo back into the fold, mending their relationship. Before they fly to Paris, Edo meets with Diana at the hangar and promises to protect her as best he can, while also preparing to take down Manticore France.
