Tell Her Everything is the fourth episode in Season 1 of the Amazon Prime Video series Citadel. The episode aired on Amazon Prime Video on May 12, 2023.
Synopsis[]
After the shocking revelation of Abby’s former identity, we learn of the past entanglements between Mason, Nadia and Celeste, and a horrific decision that reverberates still today. Meanwhile, Nadia and Kyle land at the Manticore compound in Morocco and risk their lives to free their fellow spy. But their hero’s welcome is short-lived as they are forced to grapple with a dangerous accusation.
Plot Summary[]
Nadia and Mason sneak into a Manticore Black Site in Morocco to rescue Carter. They fight and shoot at several guards to get through. When they find Carter locked in a cell, Carter appears to more afraid than relieved when he sees them. He is confused and surprised to see Mason, telling him “You did this”.
In a flashback to ten years earlier, Mason and Nadia are in Paris together, having fun and drinking champagne in their hotel room. Nadia introduces Mason to Celeste Graham as the new tier-one agent on their team. Celeste saved Nadia’s life once and she tells Mason she trusts Celeste completely. Celeste is Abby.
They discuss their latest mission, which is to discover the plan of the Silje twins, who want to take over Amsterdam with the "Oz key." Celeste is tasked with going undercover to shadow the twins and to even fall in love with him, so it all feels real. Celeste seems confident in her ability to go undercover but Mason has his doubts. Nadia assures him she’s the one for the job. She even has a twin brother herself. Mason tells her to call him weekly so he can remind her what is real and what her job is.
In Amsterdam, Celeste (undercover with newly dyed blonde hair) chats up Anders, introducing herself as Brielle. They start a relationship. She tries to get as close as she can to get the necessary intel. She brings out Anders’ soft side.
Mason repeatedly tries to call Celeste but she doesn’t call back or check in for three months. Mason assumes she has joined the twins or is planning to sell the Oz key for a lot of money. Despite Nadia's disapproval, Mason sends an ops team to find out what Celeste is up to and where her allegiance lies.
In Amsterdam, Celeste steals the Oz key, but Davik finds out and confronts her. She fights him off. The ops team infiltrates the base. However, the team is unable to find the Oz key, which makes Mason furious. They confirm that Celeste is beat up, but alive. Davik disappeared but they captured Anders.
Mason receives a secure message, which tells him that Celeste took the case and to not say a word of this to anyone. Mason sets up an interrogation with Celeste and prods her to tell him about the Oz key that he believes she plans to sell. Celeste tries to appeal to Nadia through the double mirror, claiming she would never betray her or the organization. Mason threatens her by putting her brother on target. He knows she called him once a week and paid him $800 a month. Mason threatens to kill her brother if Celeste doesn’t tell him the truth. Nadia steps in to stop him. She vouches for him, insisting she didn’t take the Oz key.
Meanwhile, Nadia questions Anders, who was knocked out during the ops attack. Mason and Grace decide to remove Celeste completely from the mission as she is now a liability. Mason suggests that they Backstop Celeste as she knows too much and may be bad for Citadel. Grace is not entirely convinced, but she approves the offsite backstop process. Mason lies to Celeste, telling her to go under the "witness protection" procedure to be transferred to a safe house in Mexico City right away. He convinces Bernard to destroy Celeste's file permanently, believing completely that she is a mole. Bernard warns him that this decision is something he can’t go back on if he makes it, so he asks that he be 100% certain about this. Mason insists they have to protect Citadel at all costs. Bernard tells him he wants to protect him.
In a Citadel Backstop facility in Mexico City, Celeste undergoes a procedure. Celeste later gets relocated to Oregon. Nadia thanks Mason for having her back and kisses him.
Carter and Mason discuss the Oz key, which is still missing. Carter accuses Mason of acting out of character by backstopping Celeste, believing he did it to protect Nadia, who was responsible for the ops team infiltration. Carter tries to warn Mason about Nadia. He tells him that even though he loves Nadia, he thinks that Mason thinks Nadia might be the mole. Mason tells him to never say anything like that ever again.
In present, Carter backtracks and blames Nadia for being the mole, despite his earlier accusation towards Mason.
