Julia Zani is a character in the Italian Prime Video series, Citadel: Diana. She is portrayed by Thekla Reuten.

Official Biography[]

Originally from the United States, her marriage to Ettore was an economic agreement between her family of steel magnates and the Zanis, weapons manufacturers. Julia thus moved to Italy, but she truly fell in love with Ettore and their union became a family following the birth of their two children. Julia proves to be an essential advisor when Ettore becomes one of the founders of Manticore Europe. Focused and sharp, she unfortunately participates in Ettore’s mistake, which almost destroys her family. Julia thus becomes a mediator in the increasingly intense conflict between Ettore and Edo, a battle ready to explode. [1]

In the Series[]

Julia is Edo's mother and Ettore's wife. Originally, her marriage to Ettore was part of a business deal between Julia's family and the Zanis because they were steel magnates. However, her love for him really grew over time. She becomes privy to Ettore’s suspicions about Edo and Diana, sharing in his concern about their influence and potential disloyalty. Julia assists Ettore by supporting his plans and helps monitor Edo’s interactions with Diana, reinforcing Ettore’s control over the family’s operations.

As Ettore’s schemes progress, Julia becomes increasingly aware of the family’s internal conflicts and begins to see the brewing tension between father and son. When Ettore decides to disown Edo for his defiance, Julia is initially shocked but ultimately aligns with Ettore’s rigid stance.
