Official Biography[]
Strong, a fighter, courageous. She combines the physical gifts of a superspy with the total control over her emotions which makes her seem invulnerable. But one is never completely invulnerable. Diana carries within her unresolved fragilities and grief, due to the death of her parents when she was very young – a mysterious death upon which she attempted to shed light throughout her adolescence – and to her training which taught her to repress every emotion. Her sister Sara, and niece Adele, is all she has left: they are her entire family, a refuge for her feelings, her strength and at the same time her weak point. Called upon to be cold and very tough, Diana is a woman with a complex emotivity, and a profound yearning for freedom.[1]
In the Series[]
In Milan 2030, the independent global spy agency Citadel was destroyed by the powerful enemy syndicate, Manticore. Since then, Diana, an undercover Citadel agent, is alone, trapped behind enemy lines as a mole in Manticore. She is initially tasked with spying on fellow agents with her partner, Luca. She kills a French agent and later murders Luca, whom she frames to cover her tracks. Throughout the season, Diana’s actions grow increasingly reckless as she becomes consumed by a personal vendetta to uncover the truth about her parents’ mysterious death in a plane crash, which she later learns was orchestrated by Zani Manufacturing.
As Diana pursues her own agenda, she becomes entangled in the power struggles between different factions within the Manticore organization. She manipulates her way into a complex alliance with Edo Zani, using her knowledge and skills to pit the Germans against the French while working to resurrect Manticore Italy. Throughout this, Diana is also dealing with a debilitating condition, Ménière’s disease, which causes dizzy spells and physical vulnerability at critical moments. She forms a complicated relationship with Edo, a key figure in the Zani family, leading to moments of romantic tension.
Diana is betrayed by Edo’s father, Ettore, who plans to eliminate her after discovering her deceptions. Despite this, Diana continues to manipulate her surroundings, working with Edo to sabotage Manticore France’s efforts and steal a powerful weapon.
In the end, Diana is caught between two opposing forces—her loyalty to Edo and the truth revealed by Gabriele, a Citadel agent, about Manticore's role in her parents’ deaths. This revelation forces Diana to confront a difficult choice: whether to remain aligned with Edo and the corrupt Manticore system or to break free and continue working for Citadel.
